Character Study: Contentment Saruni sees the "sparkling row" of bicycles-- "one of them was decorated all over with red and blue"-- that's the bicycle he wants. He works so hard to save his money week after week if you do the story problem in the math lesson-- it works out to 61 weeks-- that's over a year of saving coins! The bicycle he eventually receives from his dad was probably not sparkly or new. It doesn't look decorated at all. Does Saruni complain about the bike not being red and blue? Is he disappointed now that he has been given a used bike?
